what is anonymous thinking Overall Food Value Service Atmosphere i eat at Saddlers at least once a week and have been doing so for the past 15years. What 'Anonymous' is mentioning has to be untruthful. Yes, the bottomless glass of water is $1 but seldom is it charged. There is an extensive bottled menu and does states tap water is a $1 but from what i recall the owner saying, it was due to requests for pitchers of ice water requested and then waitress dumping most of it down the drain. In so much as the glaring, shaking of head, etc.... is the truth being stretched &/or did Anonymous misinterpret the conversation betwen cook & waitress ? Always Fantastic Overall Food Value Service Atmosphere I love Saddler's. Every time I go there I get excellent service and fantastic food. I understand being a small business that he would have to charge for some things that people take for granted but it does take time to re-fill glasses and to wash them so I think we should just enjoy a tastier drink when things like this come up. It's unfortunate he wasn't pleasant about the situation. However every dish I have had here tastes awesome and fresh. I especially love the house salad (amazing dressing) and the veggie sandwich. Soups are always tasty too and he serves very different and well tought out menu items you can't get anywhere else on the river. Wasted a Glass of Water, so you'll have to pay!! Overall Food Value Service Atmosphere I have had a very negative experience at Saddlers Cafe. My 2 girlfriends and I went there today for lunch, we ordered tap water and were surprised when we found out we had to pay $1.00 per glass. Therefore, we changed our minds and asked for bottled water instead. The owner/cook was very annoyed with us and was speaking to the waitress and said "they're going to pay for the water if they're going to waste a glass" He then looked over at our table shaking his head and glaring at me and my 2 friends. He continued to stare at our table like we had done something wrong. I have never seen this type of behaviour from an owner/operator of a restaurant before in my life. He made us very uncomfortable. After all, we were doing him a favor by even going to his restaurant and giving him our business and then he treated us this way. I will never go to Saddlers cafe again.
